  3. High tier, $350 to $800. 904L steel case, anti-reflective cyclops, a clone of the Rolex 3135 or 3235 caliber at 28,800 vph, and a laser-etched coronet on the crystal.

Beat rate is the fastest check. Genuine Datejust calibers 3135 and 3235 run at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 8 beats per second. The seconds hand sweeps in 8 steps per second. Many cheap replicas run at 21,600 vph, or 6 steps per second, and that looks choppier. High-tier replicas use the SA3135, SH3135, VR3135, or VS3235 movement. These are Chinese clones. Differences a buyer can check
