What is a replica IWC dive watch?

A replica IWC dive watch is a copy of an IWC Aquatimer. It uses the same case shape, dial layout, and bezel design. It does not use IWC's in-house movement. Water resistance is not guaranteed.

These models have a 42mm or 44mm case. The genuine Aquatimer Automatic 42 has a 42mm case and 14mm thickness.

Replica movements vary. Common options:

  • Chinese automatic, such as Seagull ST2130 or Hangzhou 6300. Beat rate is 21,600 vph. Power reserve is 40 hours.
  • Japanese Miyota 9015. Beat rate is 28,800 vph. Power reserve is 42 hours.
  • ETA 2824 clone. Beat rate is 28,800 vph. Power reserve is 38 hours.

Genuine IWC uses calibers like 30120 or 79320. Those are not available in replicas.

Case materials and dimensions
