Omega does not make a 44mm Globemaster. The Constellation Globemaster ships in 39mm and 41mm. A listing that advertises 44mm describes a case size with no genuine counterpart. That number is the first thing to check before anything else.

Why 44mm listings exist
Most 44mm "Globemaster" listings use a generic case that also appears under other model names. The dial, bezel, and caseback get stamped to match photos of the real watch. The case itself matches no Omega reference. Inside, the movement is a 28,800 vph automatic. The genuine Calibre 8900 runs at 25,200 vph. Decoration plates and rotor engraving are common on the copies. The gear train underneath is unrelated to the Omega design.
What to compare
- Case diameter. Genuine: 39mm or 41mm. 44mm is not a Globemaster size.
- Dial. Pie-pan step at the edge. Applied indices. Date at 6 o'clock.
- Bezel. Fluted, with a set number of ridges around the full circle.
- Caseback. Observatory medallion with eight stars, stamped in relief.
- Movement rate. 25,200 vph on the 8900. 28,800 vph points to a third-party automatic.

A genuine Globemaster ships with a METAS certification card. The number on that card matches the serial on the caseback. Omega service centers check the movement number against the case. A seller who cannot show the card, or shows a number that does not match, leaves the question open. Weight and surface finish vary across replica batches, so those two signals carry less value than the serial. Genuine 39mm steel Globemaster weights are not published by Omega, and listed weights on resale pages differ by bracelet type.
