The phrase "fake Lange 1 Falkenhausen 750.037" joins three items that come from three places. Lange 1 is a real watch from A. Lange & Söhne. Falkenhausen is not a model name in the Lange catalog, and I could not verify any Lange reference that uses it. The number 750 is a gold stamp, not a model number. The string appears in marketplace and replica listings, where sellers stack words to catch search traffic.
The real Lange 1
A. Lange & Söhne builds watches in Glashütte, Saxony, Germany. Ferdinand Adolph Lange founded the company in 1845. The firm was absorbed into the East German state watch combine, then restarted in 1990 by Walter Lange. The Lange 1 was one of four models in the first collection, shown on October 24, 1994.
Traits of the Lange 1:
- Asymmetric dial. The main time dial sits left of center, small seconds below it.
- Outsize date at the top right, built from two separate discs.
- Power reserve display at the right, marked Auf and Ab.
- Hand-wound movement. The current caliber L121.1 runs 72 hours.

What 750 means
750 is a purity mark. It means 750 parts of gold per 1,000, which is 18 karat. Lange stamps this inside the caseback with the maker's mark and the case number. A listing that reads "750.037" mixes a hallmark with a number.
Why a small maker is hard to copy
The Lange 1 uses a German silver three-quarter plate, gold chatons, blued screws, and a hand-engraved balance cock. Each engraving is cut by hand, so no two match. That work is the reason a replica cannot be judged from the case alone. A photo of a real movement is not proof of the watch in the box.
Checks before any purchase
- Ask for the case number and the movement number. Lange records both.
- Look at the balance cock engraving under a loupe. Hand-cut lines vary in depth. Machine-cut lines look flat and even.
